Masters is divided into two divisions, Padawan Masters and Jedi Masters.

JEDI MASTERS

PADAWAN MASTERS

Skill levels 5
and higher

Same Masters format

Skill levels 5-6 only
NO Skill levels 7-9

The same Masters format is played in both divisions (combination of 8-ball and 9-ball, race to 7 regardless of skill level). The divisions have different skill level parameters on rosters to provide players an opportunity to play in a division that allows them to be competitive while still enjoying the no-handicap format. Roster requirements are outlined below.

Padawan Masters

  • Players must be a skill level 5 in at least one format (8-Ball or 9-Ball).
  • No skill levels 7 through 9 allowed in the Padawan Masters division.
  • Players must be on a current standard format 8-Ball or 9-Ball team in the Jacksonville APA.
  • Players must meet the skill level requirements at the time they join the division.
  • Players who move up or down causing them to be outside the skill level parameters during the session may finish the session with their team but will not be allowed to play in this division the following session unless they meet skill level requirements at that time.

Jedi Masters

  • Active APA players with a current skill level must be at least a skill level 5 in both formats (8-ball and 9-ball) to participate
  • A player must have played at least 10 matches in the last two years in a format for the skill level to be considered current
  • Players are not required to play on a standard format 8-Ball or 9-Ball team to participate in this division.

Teams in each division will have an opportunity to advance to the APA Masters Championship in Las Vegas. In the event that Jacksonville APA does not receive two slots to the APA Masters Championship, making it possible for each division to hold their own qualifier, teams in the Padawan division who earn eligibility to the Championship Qualifier will have the option to compete against Jedi Masters teams for the Championship slot, or to compete in a separate bracket against Padawan Masters teams for a Vegas Experience during the Masters Championship in Las Vegas. Either way, two teams will advance to Las Vegas regardless of the number of Championship slots awarded.

Congratulations to the 2025 winners of the Vegas Qualifiers!
