CAPTAIN/CO-CAPTAIN TOURNAMENT INFORMATION
FALL 2024 Tournament: November 9, 10:30am @ Beaches QBall
In the Fall and Spring sessions we host a fun tournament to say THANK YOU to all the fantastic captains and co-captains that help make Jacksonville APA a great experience for everyone! Over $1,000 will be paid out in cash and prizes at this event!
Scotch Doubles Teams
This is a scotch doubles tournament for BOTH 8-ball and 9-ball players.
ANYONE can participate in this event. Teams must consist of AT LEAST one player that serves as captain or co-captain in the current session*, but ANY other Jacksonville APA player (from any 8-ball or 9-ball team) can be their partner. That means the captain of my 8-ball team could play with his/her friend on a 9-ball team AND the co-captain of my 8-ball team could play with someone else from our 8-ball team! This creates more opportunity for everyone to participate in this FREE tournament!
*Current session captains and co-captains only. Captains of Monthly handicapped divisions, such as Destination Division or Ladies League, are invited to participate in the Fall session tournament.
There is a max skill level limit of 10 per team;
in the event a player has a different skill level in 8-ball and 9-ball, the higher of the two skill levels will be factored into the team's total skill level.
Skill level 9s are eligible to play with a SL 2 and will be treated as a Skill Level 10 for the purpose of this tournament.
Tournament & Game Rules
We play an APA spin on a game called Saratoga in this tournament. The game combines our love of both 8-ball and 9-ball and is always a lot of fun! Unlike traditional Saratoga, and to be consistent with APA game rules generally, players do not need to call their pocket in this version of the game. You can view the game rules we play with, here:
